Full-length view, the entire figure visible from head to feet, standing upright, figure centered with the classroom filling the sides. Ksenia, a 10–11-year-old schoolgirl, fair skin with a light scatter of freckles across the nose, a round friendly face and bright curious hazel eyes behind round thin-framed glasses. Dark-brown hair in two neat loose plaits with a soft fringe. Slim, small build. She wears a navy school pinafore dress over a white collared blouse, a thin mustard-yellow cardigan, grey tights and simple dark-red Mary-Jane shoes with buckles. She stands by a tall sunlit window beside a wooden desk, one hand resting shyly on a closed notebook, body half-turned toward the viewer, shoulders slightly drawn in, a small warm welcoming smile. Soft daylight falls across her.
